okay so here's your Beltane explainer for anyone who's been seeing the word and nodding along without quite knowing what's up — Beltane is a Celtic fire festival on May 1. the name is Old Irish for 'bright fire.' it's a cross-quarter sabbat, meaning it falls exactly between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. people have been doing this for roughly two thousand years. it's about growth, fertility (in the broadest sense — creative, relational, literal), and unapologetic joy. you can't flower without heat. this year Beltane is also the night of the Flower Moon, which is a stack we do not get often. i'll be posting one Beltane thing a day until May 1.
